The Spirit searches all things, including God’s depths. Paul compares the Spirit’s knowledge of God with a person’s own spirit knowing that person, and identifies this Spirit as the Holy Spirit who teaches. Believers receive knowledge through the Spirit; they are not said to share his unrestricted knowledge.
