While answering an accusation of blasphemy, Jesus appeals to a written Psalm under the name law and says Scripture cannot be broken. He treats the quoted Scripture as a binding part of the argument. Inviolability supplies corroboration of Scripture’s authority; this local appeal alone does not enumerate the canon or formulate a complete doctrine of error-free writing.
