Yahweh’s law is perfect and restores the soul; his covenant makes the simple wise, his precepts are right, and his commandment enlightens. His ordinances are altogether righteous and warn his servant. The psalm praises the quality and purpose of God’s instruction; it does not enumerate a later canon or promise that every reader obeys.
