Paul boasts in weakness, invokes God as witness that he does not lie, and says that if he boasts he will speak truth. He reports the Lord’s answer about power in weakness and says the Corinthians compelled his foolish boasting. His uncertainty about the mode of the vision remains explicit. Truthfulness by itself does not establish inspiration; these statements show what his foolishness does and does not claim.
