The passage continues from Timothy’s known sacred writings and salvation through faith in Christ to Scripture’s usefulness for instruction and good works. In the verified Greek text, ἱερὰ γράμματα means sacred writings in verse 15; verse 16 begins πᾶσα γραφὴ θεόπνευστος καὶ ὠφέλιμος, placing God-breathed and useful alongside Scripture. No linking verb is expressed in that clause. Reading both descriptions as predicates fits the continued commendation; taking God-inspired with Scripture and asserting its usefulness remains a material alternative, also recorded in the WEB footnote. The paragraph identifies no uninspired subset. Conversely, qualifying writing as God-inspired does not by itself assert that uninspired Scripture exists; neither observation establishes that every Scripture is inspired. The context does not force one grammatical reading or supply a list of later canonical books. The displayed verses are English; the Greek wording was checked separately in SBLGNT and is linked in research.
